Poland at the 2016 Summer Olympics

We've won 11 medals in athletics, rowing, canoeing, cycling, modern pentathlon and wrestling.

Rio Summer Olympics 2016

Brazil - the host of Summer Olympics 2016 is the world's fifth-largest country by both area and population. Portugese is as an official language. Brazil is also one of the most diverse and fascinating countries. There are dense rain forests and jungles, expanses of coastline, towering mountains, oceanic archipelagos, rivers, scrublands and plains.

What are the symbols of Brazil? Name at least 4, describe one of them.

May 2016 in Poland

Spring in Poland lasts usually from March to May. The daily temperatures at that time range from about 5° to 15° Celsius. Especially May is beautiful, sunny and warm.

Super Tuesday - March 1

In the United States, Super Tuesday, refers informally to a day when the greatest number of  the US States hold primary elections and caucuses.

Who are the candidates? What parties do they represent? 
What do they offer?

The 88th Academy Awards ceremony, Oscars 2016

The ceremony honored the best films of 2015 and took place on February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre in  Hollywood, Los Angeles.

9th – Shrove Tuesday or ‘Pancake Day’

                         

People make pancakes and take part in pancake races. 

The basic ingredients for pancakes are the symbols of four points of significance at this time of year:
Eggs ~ Creation
Flour ~ The staff of life
Salt ~ Wholesomeness
Milk ~ Purity

 The ‘UK classic’ topping is lemon juice and a sprinkle of white sugar, before rolling your pancake into a sausage shape and devouring it.

25th – Burns’ Night (Scotland)

January 25th is the day of Scotland's national poet -  Robert Burns. 

The day commemorates the life of the poet, who was born on January 25, 1759. It also celebrates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture.

How do people celebrate?

Men may wear kilts, there might be bagpipe music, and most people eat haggis (the traditional Scottish dish of sheeps’ heart, liver and lungs) with neeps (turnips) and tatties (potatoes). 
Many Scottish people hold a special supper (dinner) on Burns’ Night with toasts and readings of his poetry. Burns' greatest works are:
