17th - 22nd September London Fashion Week 

 is a clothing trade show that takes place in London twice a year, in September and in February.

It is one of the "Big Four" fashion weeks along with the New York, Milan and Paris.

Do opowiadania o  przeszłości używamy w j. angielskim czasów Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect oraz Past Perfect Continuous. Warto też pamiętać o wyrażeniach przydatnych w relacjonowaniu wydarzeń, określających kolejność następowania wydarzeń: 

one day – pewnego dnia

at first – najpierw

later – później

...and later on - później
next – następnie
at the same time - w tym samym czasie

while/when .... - Podczas gdy...

before that – zanim

after - potem

as soon as – jak tylko

finally/ in the end  – w końcu

- wstępu, 

- rozwinięcia, 

- zakończenia.

the British Royal Family

Prince William and Kate Middleton became parents with the birth of their first child on 22 July 2013, when their son Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born. Their first daughter, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge was born on May 2, 2015.

Although the British Monarchy no longer has a political or executive role,it plays an important role in the life of the British  nation. Members of the Royal Family support The Queen in her duties, carry out important work in the public and charitable service, and help to strengthen national unity.

St George's Day in England

St George's is England's patron saint.

The anniversary of his death, which is on April 23, is seen as England's national day. According to the legend, he was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess. Traditionally, 23 April is the day for a red rose in the button hole, the national flower.

The symbol of St George's Day is St George's cross,  a red cross on a white background. It is used as England's national flag, forming part of the Union Jack.
St George is the Patron Saint of scouting.

Easter Sunday is a Christian holiday about Jesus Christ's resurrection.

Wybierz wyrażenia związane z Wielkanocą i wpisz je w odpowiednie rubryki tabeli: Food, Decorations, Traditions.

Chinese New Year

                     19th February

Chinese New Year is the most important of the Chinese holidays. Outside Asia, the world’s biggest celebration of Chinese New Year is in London –  there is a parade through Chinatown in the West End. It is a time of feasting with the family, celebration, fireworks and gift-giving.

Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day

                  17 th of February 

Pancake Day is also known as Shrove Tuesday, it was traditionally a day of fun and feasting before the fasting required during 40 days of Lent.  Next enjoyed on 9th February 2016.
In some cities a Traditional Pancake Day activitiy is the pancake race where contestants toss pancakes in a frying pan while running for the finish line.

Zadanie: 

Ułóż przepis na swoje ulubione naleśniki, wymyśl nazwę. Pamiętaj o wypisaniu składników na początku oraz procedury postępowania przy przygotowaniu dania. Użyj jak najwięcej z poniższych rzeczowników: flour, baking powder, sugar, egg, milk, butter, jam, fruit oraz czasowników: prepare,  mix, pour, add, fry.
